Your Pantry or Mine

The event spawned by my challenge in The Food Snob Chronicles is well on its way. I’ve received pantry lists from the first two victims entrants, who I’m sure are looking forward to seeing what comes out of their stores.

Both my wife and I were so impressed by the detailed lists we received that we’ve changed the rules a bit. Instead of coming up with one meal from our entrant’s pantries, we’re going to make either two or three! Yep, you heard me right, these lists are so detailed that we thought it wouldn’t be right to stop at one, and I have to give both of these ladies a HUGE thank you for giving me such an in-depth look into their food stores.

For this round, I’ll be working with the following ingredients.

Jerry is the epitome of cooking without a plan. As a matter of fact, he secretly wishes he could participate in an Iron Chef America episode, simply because it is one place where he wouldn't feel at all out of place. Not knowing the ingredients beforehand doesn't make him nervous at all. Of course, the reality is that he'd probably lose and look entirely foolish, but hey, it would still be fun!

  1. Woohoo! This is exciting! I’m so interested to see what someone who isn’t me makes out of my stuff!

  2. Me again. I just checked out your comment to dew…was I supposed to send the list of liquor? Because I totally forgot…not an easy task, considering my cabinetmaker husband has built a full bar in our kitchen and it’s fully stocked. So if you decide you need liquor with my stuff…worry not. We have it all.

  3. Jess,
No worries on the liquor cabinet! I’ll assume you’ve got some port wine and some cooking sherry, though I don’t know that I’ll use either.
