Thirteen reasons I don’t have a better Thirteen

By Jerry • Jun 18th, 2008 • Category: Blog Events

Some weeks just don’t go like you expected.  All the planning in the world simply can’t make up for the things that didn’t go the way they should have, and I suppose that’s the real reason for this TT.  No matter how hard I tried, something always got in the way of researching what I actually wanted to do this list about.

So instead of that list, which I will endeavor to complete by the Next Thursday Thirteen, I give you

Thirteen reasons I don’t have a better Thirteen:

  1. The dog needed my atention
  2. My son needed my attention
  3. everyone I have ever met in my life has called over the past few days, and a few people I’ve never spoken to before wanted to chat for hours as well.
  4. I’ve been working on this project, and this website as often as possible.
  5. I’ve started writing for Associated Content.  Check out my articles here!
  6. Sick child cleanup…  Need I really describe this?
  7. We’ve spent four nights out late running errands and other necessities.
  8. Father’s day weekend cut into work time a bit… (But I’m not complaining about this one.)
  9. A nap was needed on Monday to help recover from Father’s Day. (Again, I’m not complaining, but I lost a few hours)
  10. An entire day was spent trying to get my ex to agree to let my sons come out from California, then trying to work out the details.  Time well spent, IMHO.
  11. There was a No Reservations Marathon on at some point…
  12. I spent an entire day just chatting with my wife and watching movies.
  13. And the final reason I’ve got nothing better to offer than excuses as to why I have nothing better to offer is…   Well, I don’t have one.  The week has been busy and it’s been hectic, but all-in-all I really can’t complain.  Just check back next week for something a little more representative of the message of this site.

Have a great day, everyone!

Jerry is the epitome of cooking without a plan. As a matter of fact, he secretly wishes he could participate in an Iron Chef America episode, simply because it is one place where he wouldn't feel at all out of place. Not knowing the ingredients beforehand doesn't make him nervous at all. Of course, the reality is that he'd probably lose and look entirely foolish, but hey, it would still be fun!
