We’re moving. Not as we had expected to. We had expected orders for a new station at some point this year, but those orders have not come as of yet. Instead the home we live in has been put on death row and we must vacate, so we’re being moved to a different part of the base.
The upside is that we’ll be getting an extra bedroom that my wife can use as an office, and I’ll be getting a dining room off the kitchen for MY office/studio. For at least the next few months I’ll be able to leave equipment at the ready, instead of having to break everything down at the end of a shoot and pack it away for safety. Now that’s just nice!

The downside is that this home, which has stood and sheltered the brave men and women of the US Armed Forces over the past 60 years will be no more. It’s making way for a community center and a park. The beautiful tree lined streets are giving way to modern town homes with no personality or character, and no sense of community, something I dearly loved about this neighborhood when we moved in.
We’re off to choose our new home at 10:00AM. I’ll be dragging my camera along to let you guys in on the fun with me. If I get the floorplan I want, there may even be podcasts in the future!

The joys of living on base! I hope you find the floor plan you’re looking for and the move goes smoothly.
