The “New” Food Mill

It’s not uncommon to find my wife and I at the Goodwill store or Salvation Army. They’re a wonderful source for unique food props, fabric scraps, etc. As most food bloggers know, you really can’t have too many different soup bowls, and my prop collection grows daily. (This is a topic for an upcoming post.)

Today we were looking for little bits of this-or-that, and I came across something I simply couldn’t pass up, a Foley food mill at a whoppin’ $1.99.

I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a food mill for a while, but at $39.00 for a new one, I ws a bit hesitant. I hate spending money on something that I find I will never use. At this price I get the chance to see if the mill will become a regular use tool, or if I was right not to buy at full price, and it set me back less money than a good cappuccino!

Just thought I’d share. I’m all tingly!

Jerry, that is a real find! I too frequent the thrift shops. I’m always amazed at the really cool kitchen stuff that’s cast aside. Occasionally I donate some things to the shops, too, so that other food folks can have the pleasure of finding a great pyrex bowl for 50 cents.
