My first “real life” fan
By Jerry • Sep 17th, 2007 • Category: Personal RamblingsIt’s an amazing and slightly strange thing to physically “bump into” someone who reads your blog, but that’s just what happened to me over the weekend. My wife and I were on our way to the local Mega-mart after a quick grocery run when we passed two young women who were frantically looking for their wayward dog. Luckily, the little guy showed up from around the corner almost on cue, but it was the next part that left me stunned for a bit.
After introductions to Scrappy (The dog.. cute Lil’ guy), one of the ladies looked at me and said:
“Do you have a blog?”
To which I replied “Yes, several, but mostly I run a cooking blog.”
Her reply:
“I thought so. I’ve seen it a few times… Actually I’m quite a fan!”
Wow.
So, this is just a little shout out to my local visitors, whether I’ve met you or not. And I apologize, but I didn’t catch your name, Miss. So here’s an especially fond shout out to Scrappy’s owner!
Jerry is the epitome of cooking without a plan. As a matter of fact, he secretly wishes he could participate in an Iron Chef America episode, simply because it is one place where he wouldn't feel at all out of place. Not knowing the ingredients beforehand doesn't make him nervous at all. Of course, the reality is that he'd probably lose and look entirely foolish, but hey, it would still be fun!
