On the road

By Jerry • Mar 24th, 2007 • Category: Personal Ramblings

I wish that this entry was one of the titles I’ve been working on for the past several days.

I wish that I could entice you with one of four recipes I have in the queue, or that I had the time to post a series of observations that has been keeping my mind bustling over the past half week.

I wish I could, but I can’t.

We received news that My wife’s Stepfather has been rushed to the hospital, and we’re making preparations to take the two hour drive to Dallas to visit him for what may be the last time. So much for attending a co-workers’ wedding this evening.

I’ll be back at the keys either very late tonight or early tomorrow with a few new tidbits, and a rant that I’ve been working on over the past few afternoons.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Until tonight then!

Jerry is the epitome of cooking without a plan. As a matter of fact, he secretly wishes he could participate in an Iron Chef America episode, simply because it is one place where he wouldn't feel at all out of place. Not knowing the ingredients beforehand doesn't make him nervous at all. Of course, the reality is that he'd probably lose and look entirely foolish, but hey, it would still be fun!

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about your father in law, I hope that he gets better. I’ll keep you and your family in my mind, hope your wife is doing OK.

  2. Ellie,

Thanks for the kind words. My wife is doing well. We’ve all known that this was coming for a very long while. Actually, the ol’ guy is pretty rugged and has amazed the Doc’s by hanging on several years past when he should have. He may surprise all of us with a few more of them.

  3. Sorry to hear about your FIL, Jerry - please convey my sympathy to your wife.

I hope it all works out.

    Take care

  4. Lisa,

Thanks Hon. My wife appreciates the kind thoughts.

I’m sure we haven’t been handed any more than we can handle. It just seems to work out that way.
