The ongoing saga of…
By Jerry • Mar 25th, 2007 • Category: Personal RamblingsIf you’re a regular visitor you’ve probably already noticed that I’ve shaken the look of the place up a bit again. There shouldn’t be any surprise in that, since I’d already said I was compelled to do so in an earlier post.
As usual, I waxed impatient and just had to get this template up today, so expect to see some shifting around of topics, menus and a bit of functionality here and there over the next few days. (I’ve never been great at waiting.)
I really think that this particular theme suits my style a bit better. It’s more original, more “My Own” than the last, and I think that it shows the photography in a better light as well. For that reason alone it’s a better choice.
Don’t worry, Cooking by the seat of my Pants will be back to posting regular food related entries just as soon as I can get ‘em typed up. My obsession with “Look and Feel” won’t prevent that, and I’ve got several items just waiting to grace these pages with their yumminess.
I hope you all enjoy the new look. Don’t worry, I’ll be sticking with it for at least a year.
Jerry is the epitome of cooking without a plan. As a matter of fact, he secretly wishes he could participate in an Iron Chef America episode, simply because it is one place where he wouldn't feel at all out of place. Not knowing the ingredients beforehand doesn't make him nervous at all. Of course, the reality is that he'd probably lose and look entirely foolish, but hey, it would still be fun!

I like the look…is that your seat of the pants?
Sandi,
The photo above is not the “official” seat of my pants. It is, however a very reasonable facsimile. (My wife assures me that the seat of my pants is better looking, but I’m no judge of such things.) It is a very close approximation, at any rate. To my knowledge there are no surviving photos that include the seat of my pants, and I aim to keep it that way!
Nice jeans, and nice blog layout. I wish I were creative (or courageous) enough to undertake an overhaul!
Yep, I really like this look the best - way to go! Looking forward to your next post =)
Lydia,
I think your blog looks pretty good myself! I’d offer to assist if you really wanted me to, but I don’t know much about typepad.
Lisa,
It was a pleasant surprise for me when I noticed that the photos were just “popping” off the page. And as a food blogger, anything that makes the photos look good is something I’m all for!
I won’t make you wait long for new posts, either. I’ll be tossing at least three up today :)
Love the new template, I was eyeing this template when I was viewing all the new ones at Wordpress, this one just caught my eye and I really enjoy seeing it used for your foodie blog!
Laurie,
It’ll keep looking better as things go on. I’ve been a “Professional” designer for years, so I fear I’ll just keep tinkering with it until it’s perfect… Then I’ll want to change it again, LOL
[...] is caused in the process. I even have plans to include one of the more requested features that were mentioned in the last change! Stay tuned… More on this in the months to [...]
