I’m probably not the best person to discuss this subject… I’m biased. I met my wife online just a little over three years ago and I’ve never been happier, so please forgive me if this reads like a commercial or something.

If you are single and have been looking around for that “certain someone”, you’ve probably considered online dating sites or personals. While each and every one of these sites will tell you they have helped countless people find that special someone, I’m sure you have your doubts. Those doubts are well founded.

I tried a lot of dating sites when I found myself suddenly single. I will admit that I was introduced to a few interesting people, but you wouldn’t believe which sites came through where other “better” sites didn’t. In the end I met my wife on a writers forum, but that does not negate the fact that online matchmaking sites like Perfect Match, eHarmony, Yahoo Personals and Match.com do work for a lot of people.

How do you know which one of these is best for you? You go to a site dedicated to reviewing them and pick carefully. I know that I would have liked to have one around when i was still “shopping around” for that perfect someone.
