This one is for all of my Canadian foodie friends. If you’re looking for the perfect place to eat in the greater Montreal area (including Quebec), look no further than restaurant montreal. The site is informative, is filled with a ton of great restaurant reviews and has both English and French versions so that you can find just the right place to dine, regardless of your native tongue. (Though honestly even when I switched to the English version, many of the reviews were still written in French, which I neither speak nor read.)
The search function is simple enough to use, and provided some pretty good hints, even for someone like me who has never been to the area. I can imagine jumping onto the site if I was visiting a few of my blogging friends from the area if they didn’t have a solid recommendation for me that night, or if we were all just looking for something new.
Some of the restaurant information seems to be in its infancy. For instance, a search for Asian cuisine in Chinatown returned no results, which puzzled me a bit until I discovered that apparently “Asian” and “Chinese” are considered by their search tool to be two different entities entirely. It may be my American way of thinking that caused this misunderstanding though, since we consider Chinese cuisine to fall under Asian as a general rule.
In a nutshell, I’d call this site an up-and-comer. It has what it takes to be a wonderful resource for the Montreal area foodie, and I’m sure you’ll be hearing more about it in the future.
